Best Cheap Variable ND Filter Under $30
Hello everyone today I pick up a ND filter for my 46mm Panasonic lens and it costs me around $30AUD which is relatively cheap in my opinion. I do have to say that this is my first Variable Neutral Density filter and I have only used it for a week. So I am still very new to ND filters themselves, But I will still be able to tell you my experience with it.
Let’s start with the unboxing experience as I feel that is what gives you your first impressions on the product. The box is quite nice nothing to special has a little design here and there. When you open the box you get a plastic casing as well as the ND filter inside. I did not expect QKOO to add a plastic cover for the cheap price, but I am really glad they did as it just makes carrying the ND filter a lot easier in your bag.
The Variable Neutral Density filter itself is built very well as it is made out of Optical Glass and an Aluminium Alloy Frame. The ND filter screws on the lens nicely as it should and it is easy to adjust the density. The ND filter also has little markers on the frame to help you adjust how much or how little light you want to let into your lens. Here are some before and after photos without and with the ND Filter:
So what I did find with my testings with this particular ND filter is that it makes the images/videos have a more warmer colour contrast and does soften the image or video a little bit, but on YouTube you will not notice the softness as much. I feel like the ND filter works best for videos rather then images with my time using it. For what it is, it works really well and it is definitely a good solution to adjust how much light you want or need in your shot. So that your photo/video will never be over exposed. Like I said at the start of the video I didn’t really get to test all the capabilities as I have only had it for a week. After all, though this is a pretty good ND filter and if you are in the market for a cheap ND filter then this is defiantly one to conceder.
